if an ice officer comes to your door

Do not open the door.

Ask the officer’s name and badge number.

Ask to see their warrant. It needs to be an official court warrant signed by a judge or magistrate, not an administrative warrant signed by an ICE supervisor. They look different. See comparison image below.

Ask to pass the warrant under the door or through a window.

Remain calm. Do not run. Do not resist arrest.

You have the right to remain silent.

You have the right to make a phone call.

You have the right to speak with a lawyer.

You have the right to see an immigration judge.

You have the right to know where you are being detained.

Memorize three phone numbers of people you can call for help.
